Are You Selling is Launceston’s leading car buying service

Thinking about selling your car in Launceston? There are quite a few options these days between posting on free sites, using paid platforms, advertising on the side of the road, or even selling back to dealers. We’re hoping to be another option that stands out from the rest by way of ease and lack of hassle. One of the most important things to car sellers is doing it quickly. By the time someone is ready to sell, they don’t usually want to go through months of inspections and test drives while their roadworthy check goes out of date. At Are You Selling we keep it as simple as we can so that sellers have a straight shot to cash for their car, and no headaches in the process.

If you’re selling a car in Launceston before a move to Melbourne, we can always help you on the other end if you need to move stuff over on the ferry. Just head over to our Melbourne page and you can sell your car there as soon as you arrive.

Selling a car is easy with our simple 3-step process:

  • Fill out a brief sell my car enquiry form, it only takes a second.
  • We’ll contact you to arrange an onsite inspection, and one of our vehicle experts will provide you with a free car valuation.
  • After a price has been agreed upon, we give cash for cars within 24 hours!

Why should I use areyouselling.com.au to sell my car in Launceston?

  • We’ll buy makes and models of all kinds, not just the most popular cars!
  • We don’t require a roadworthy check so you don’t have to waste time and money.
  • You get a free car valuation from professionals.
  • Cash for cars, in three simple steps.

We love cars and we love Launceston. Here are some tips for navigating Launceston roads:

Between the Cataract Gorge, Queen Victoria museum, myriad walks and gardens, and annual festivals, Launceston is a destination that Tasmanian residents are sure to frequent. Mainland Australians aren’t left out either as Launceston is only an hours drive from the Spirit of Tasmania ferry. If you’ve been driving in Australian cities for some time then you’ll probably be just find hitting the Tasmanian roads, but it’s never a bad idea to brush up on local traffic laws and etiquette.

Sometimes you won’t see a sign indicating the speed limit on a given road, but you can still avoid a fine. Tasmania has default speed limits detailed in their official Road Rules, which state: 50km/hr in urban/residential areas, 80 km/hr in unsealed country roads, and 100 km/hr in sealed country roads. If you’re still a novice driver, you aren’t permitted to surpass 80km/hr on any road, no matter the signage. L2 and P1 driver’s generally are required to stay 10km/hr under the signed limit. For normal drivers, stick to the defaults or, if there are signs indicating otherwise, always follow those. For instance, you may be required to slow down to 40 km/hr in a school zone during certain hours of the day, or you might be able to get up to 110 km/hr on certain major highway stretches.

If you find yourself driving behind a school bus, make sure you stay at least 50 metres back and don’t go over 40 km/hr. If you’re turning at an intersection with traffic lights, stick to 20km/hr until you’re back on the straight part of the road.

When it comes to lines on the road, there seems to be confusion about whether they can be crossed in certain situations. For double white lines in the middle of the road, you can only legally cross them if you’re avoiding an accident or hazard. If it’s a single line then you can make turns into side roads or drive ways but you can’t overtake or make a U-turn.

If you stick to the basics, you’ll have no problems navigating around the beautiful roadways of Launceston and surrounds. If in doubt or it’s been a while, just double check the road rules and drive with confidence.
